bits + pieces of a texas wedding

it finally happened. and it only took us three years. mark and i got away together without any kids. for three and a half days! we missed them like crazy but thoroughly enjoyed our trip to austin for sharon + jay's wedding. it was a weekend spent with friends and filled with reading, relaxing by the pool, lots of delicious food and a few good beers. sharon + jay's wedding took place just before sunset under a beautiful tree at barr mansion in austin. their wedding was a stylish and colorful affair. the bridesmaids wore dresses in the most beautiful shade of blue and they each had different bright + bold colored shoes and flowers. and i loved how sharon's bouquet was made up of all of the different flowers that her girls were carrying.  jay asked the guys to pick their own bow ties to bring a bit of their own personalities to the day. sharon was stunning in her wedding dress, but what made her shine even more was the smile and laughter she carried with her all night long. my very favorite detail was sharon's amazing blue wedding shoes. simply gorgeous! sharon and jay paid attention to every detail from the refreshing drinks before the ceremony to amazing food that was served throughout the day. and since my husband was the best man and i was a guest at the wedding, i got to enjoy all of the festivities. it was a night of good friends and good times.

i was not the wedding photographer but i just couldn't resist taking photos of the day. here are bits + pieces of sharon and jay's austin wedding at barr mansion.
