I finally spent a weekend with two of my lifelong friends last summer. We had a girls weekend at one of their homes in San Diego. No kids, no husbands - just us girls. This was the first time in many years that we were able to do this and it was a long time overdue!
All three of us love to take photos so I brought my big camera with me. During the weekend, I shot with both my big camera and my iPhone. It was quite a different perspective being behind the camera and not taking photos of my kids. I loved this challenge.
When I got home, I wanted to do something special with the photos. Because this was a very personal trip and wasn't family related, I didn't want to document it all in my Project Life pages. (I will add a photo or two from my trip in that week's pages just to document what I was doing.)
I've seen friends share online the beautiful photo books they have made from Artifact Uprising, so this seemed like it would be the perfect way to put these photos together.
I made three books - one for each of us. In the books I included photos from our weekend. At the end of my book I added some extra pages with journaling about my trip that I wrote on my iPad when I was there.
The process for putting together the book was simple and the finished product was absolutely beautiful!
I mailed the books to my friends as a little reminder of our fun time spent together. I love how the books turned out and I could not be happier with this little keepsake!
- Softcover photo book from Artifact Uprising
- It is small - only 5.5"x5.5", but it was the perfect size for this project.
- The paper quality is excellent. It is thicker than a typical standard photo book paper.
